Fysiotherapie Wateringse Veld in The Hague has been using Opensignage for over 10 years. We spoke to Daphne Stuiver, owner, physiotherapist and manual therapist.

Extending patient communication into the waiting room

Daphne explains: “We already had a great website and brochures, but we wanted to extend our patient communication into the waiting room. A digital signage screen seemed like the ideal solution. We contacted Fys'Optima, an organisation that offers physiotherapy practices collective purchasing benefits, and that’s how we came across Opensignage.”

Daphne is very pleased with Opensignage: “I really like how easy it is to make changes yourself. You can also customise the content with your own logo and brand colours, making it instantly recognisable to patients.”

The screen in the waiting room is mainly used to display information about the practice, such as regular opening hours, changes to opening hours around public holidays, or information about a student currently completing a placement at the practice. Daphne says: “Our patients particularly enjoy seeing photos of the team. It means they know who they’ll be seeing and what that therapist specialises in. For us, it’s also a great way to show that we offer a wide range of specialisms. It’s a win-win!”

Displaying ads on the digital signage screen

Through Fys'Optima, Daphne learned that it is now also possible to display advertisements on the digital signage screen. This creates an interesting additional revenue stream, as the practice receives payment for the advertisements shown. Daphne was keen to give it a try. Fys'Optima put her in touch with CastingAds, a company that connects screen owners with advertisers.

Together with Daphne, they added the advertising modules to the digital signage screen: “We were able to specify in advance which types of advertisements we didn’t want to display. After that, it was simply a matter of setting everything up once, and we haven’t had to worry about it since. At the same time, we remain in control of what appears on our screen, which is really important to us.”

The practice has chosen to focus primarily on advertisements relating to health and exercise. Daphne adds: “When the first advertisements appeared on our screen, we looked at them very critically. But we were pleasantly surprised. The adverts were tasteful and professional, and the topics were genuinely relevant to our sector.”

Every three months, the practice receives a payment statement from CastingAds. Daphne says: “We keep that income separate and use it as a fund for enjoyable team activities. It gives the money a nice purpose and helps strengthen team engagement.”

Strong collaboration between Opensignage, Fys'Optima and CastingAds

Finally, we asked Daphne whether there was anything else she would like to add. She says: “We’re particularly happy with the service from Opensignage. Whenever we need help with something, the helpdesk is always there to assist us. I also think the collaboration between Opensignage, Fys'Optima and CastingAds is a really strong combination. We’re delighted that we can now get even more out of our screen, benefiting both our patients and our team.”

PLEASE NOTE: Displaying advertisements via CastingAds is only available in the Netherlands. Are your screens located outside the Netherlands, but would you still like to display advertisements? You can use the Opensignage Advertising app and Advertising widget instead. The app allows you to add advertisements that you have sourced yourself. You can then use the widget to display these advertisements on one or more screens. The app also provides statistics showing the number of times each advertisement has been displayed, allowing you to provide advertisers with evidence of how often their adverts have been shown.
